California Science Center is Free to Visit! - Things to Do in Los Angeles 6

Going out with a family can get a little expensive in Los Angeles. Well, for those of you who want to take your family out for some fun, and not spend a fortune, the California Science Center right next to USC is an awesome place to take your loved ones.

Incredible thing that many people don't know about this place... Admission is free at the California Science Center. Wow! And it's such a nice place.

The only catch... you'll have to pay for parking which is $8 per car. Not too bad, I guess.

It's a good idea to pick a good time when visiting the California Science Center since at times it may get a crowded. I heard that during a weekday, times before noon and little after, can get a little crowded from field trips and students visiting.

We went around 3PM, and basically the whole museum was to ourselves. There weren't that many people walking around, and we had a good time.

There's a lot of cool exhibits here at the California Science Center. I particularly liked their marine exhibit where you can touch shellfishes, and stare at the huge aquarium. They also had insect exhibits, and geology exhibits which were all very interesting.

Basically, with so much to see, this is definitely an awesome place to visit with your family, friends, or loved ones. And if you're willing to spend some money, the IMAX 3D movies that they have here are amazing too. Their movies are all educational in nature, but the 3D effects are super cool.

We saw the Hubble, and it was one of the best movies I saw - maybe in my life. :)

Well, so next time, you have some time, or need to find something to do, try checking out the California Science Center in Los Angeles.

Eat a Donut at Randy's Donuts - Things to do in Los Angeles 5

Ever feel like eating a donut or visiting a Los Angeles Landmark? Well, if you go to Randy's Donuts, you can do both of these at the same time.

Open 24 hours a day, and conveniently located close to LAX. I personally wish that this is the first place all visitors must visit when arriving in Los Angeles. You can arrive any hour of the day, and visit Randy's Donuts since they're open all day long.

Their donuts are awesome. Especially the yeast donuts. They are extremely fluffy and tasty. As I write this, I have saliva in my mouth since they're that good. One of our favorite was the bear claw. Everything else was good too.

Good thing about this place is that the prices are still very good. A "Best Cheap Eats Place" around Los Angeles. I would go with these donuts any day over the hyper inflated prices that cupcakes charge these days. Donuts at Randy's Donuts range from $0.70-1.00 a piece. What an awesome deal!

So next time you have a craving for a donut, want to visit a Los Angeles Landmark, or just landed in LAX, this is surely a place for you to visit. Maybe you'll see Iron Man sitting on the donut hole on your visit.

Eat at Chego! - Things to Do in Los Angeles 4

Kogi BBQ Truck was a big deal in Los Angeles a year ago. Now the chef who started Kogi BBQ started out his own restaurant - Chego!

Chego in Korean means something like "the best."

The food at Chego! is pretty unique. It's pretty much something we've never experienced before. It's very Korean fusion food with beautiful presentation. And the good thing about this place is that everything is reasonably priced - around $5-9.

We tried a bunch of things here. The Ooey Gooey Fries for $6. The $12 Salad for $7. The Tiny's Prime Rib Rice Plate for $9. And the Chubby Pork Belly for $8. All are reasonably priced relative to the quality of food that they serve here.

One of the most memorable taste was putting mint with rice. It was the first time I tried anything like that, and it's pretty bold. It maybe an acquired taste, but it sure was interesting.

The seating here is family style, so you'll be sharing seats with others if its busy.

Overall, the food, the ambiance, and the price at Chego! is great. So next time you're in the Palms area in Los Angeles, you might want to go check out Chego!

Hang Out at the New and Improved Santa Monica Place - Things to Do in Los Angeles 3

Visiting Santa Monica is always fun. The beach, the touristy atmosphere, the nice vibe, and 3rd Street Promenade. Now, there's another destination to visit when you go and visit Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Place got it's makeover last year, and it's now a very trendy open air mall.

The old Santa Monica Place used to be in a closed building, but now, it's all open. It's awesome because you get to enjoy the sun and the ocean breeze as you walk through the mall.

Located just off the 3rd Street Promenade, it's pretty difficult to miss. As you walk through 3rd Street, this is where you'll end up. And what a nice little place to finish your walk through 3rd Street.

The first thing you'll see is the Kitson or the Nike Store. And you should be lured in to go check out all the other cool stores at this place. They got a lot of brand name shops, so it must be a great place to go for shop-a-holics.

Also extremely pleasant was the new food court. They've made it with all glass walls and ceilings, so it feels extremely spacious and light when eating here. It just gives you a good feel when you walk in.

So next time you're in Santa Monica, you know where to go shopping. Go check out the new and improved Santa Monica Place!

Old Fashioned Mexican Food at Tito's Tacos - Things to Do in Los Angeles 2

If you ever get a craving for an old fashioned Mexican food, Tito's Taco is one of LA's favorite spots. In business since 1959, there is always a long line at this place.

They are famous for their tacos. $2.25 for one which includes plenty of cheese. And if you're feeling like something else, they serve up a killer Tamale, enchilada, tostada, chili, or a burrito.

Just order off a cool menu that looks like this.

Personally speaking, Tito's Tacos reminded me of the old fashioned Taco Bell food that I ate growing up. Good old tacos with beef, lettuce, and cheese in a hard shell taco. Good times.

Since Tito's Taco has been around so long, it's sort of a iconic restaurant that you have to visit at least once when you're in LA. Go check it out, and let these nice people at Tito's Taco make you an awesome taco.

$1.50 Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches at Diddy Riese Cookies - Things to Do in Los Angeles 1

Things in LA can get expensive. Especially parking. It's truly one bad part of living or hanging out in Los Angeles. It's either you pay for parking or pay for a parking ticket.

Anyway, an awesome deal in Los Angeles today (January 2011) are the cookie ice cream sandwiches at Diddy Riese.

Located in Westwood, right by UCLA, this awesome ice cream shop forgot that it's located in Westwood, and it's 2011. Ice cream sandwiches for only $1.50!!! Wow.

And if you can see from the picture above, cookies here: only 35 cents. Brownies: only 45 cents. Is that pretty amazing or what?? I mean it is 2011, and this place is in Westwood, pretty expensive piece of real estate. Good deal.

Diddy Riese lets you pick your own cookies (two different kinds if you like) and your own ice cream. And they are pretty generous with its portions. One of these will definitely satisfy you.

The proper way to eat these things, are just pick it up and bite in. Cookie - ice cream - cookie. It's a big bite, but well worth it. That's the best way to eat it.

Anyway, next time you're in Westwood, this place is a must-go kind of place for you to check out.
